ABORTION AND DEMOCRACY IN BRAZIL
CLUES TO REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

The article seeks to analyze government actions, discourses and norms on abortion that materialize from practices in various spheres of public services, impacting direct effects on the lives of girls, women and people capable of gestating. This occurs from the misogynistic scenario of setbacks and dismantling in policies in tune with education and human rights in the ultraliberal governments from 2016 to 2022. Following the hope derived from the exit of the fascist government in the elections for 2023 this text aims to bring the discussion about abortion as an essential agenda for the democratic resumption of Brazil. To this end, we make use of Michel Foucault's genealogy of pastoral power, critical studies about neo-conservative movements and legislative frameworks concerning reproductive rights, and the theoretical and methodological contribution of Institutional Analysis.
