NEGATION OF BLACKNESS
SUBJECTIVE IMPLICATIONS AND PATHWAYS OF SYMBOLIC RESISTANCE

This article aims to analyze the mechanisms of negation of blackness and the modalities of suffering, bridging psychoanalysis and critical race studies. The importance of this investigation lies in understanding how racism, beyond a social phenomenon, functions as a structural trauma shaping Black subjectivity. A qualitative and interpretative method was adopted, based on the analysis of works by Neusa Santos Souza, Lia Vainer Schucman, and Grada Kilomba, in dialogue with Sueli Carneiro, Lélia Gonzalez, Fanon, Mbembe, and Freud. Findings reveal that alienation, splitting, repression, and traumatic repetition permeate Black experience, perpetuating exclusion and silencing. The discussion highlights that narrating pain, engaging in racial literacy, and valuing ancestral knowledge are strategies of resistance and symbolic healing. It concludes that confronting racism requires both political action and subjective elaboration, reaffirming Black identity as a source of potency.
