This is the review of the book O Outrossexo: não existe relação heterossexual. Its author, Jean Allouch, considers that it is possible to deduce two analyzes of sex in Lacan, corresponding to two modalities of the non-existence of the sexual relation. Allouch questions the Lacanian project of writing non-relation – the second analytic – which makes use to resources of the knot theory, from which one could infer three incidences of non-existence: The Other does not exist, the Other jouissance does not exist, the sexual relation does not exist. In parallel to this proposal, the author presents three figures of non sexual relation taken from Foucault – the master with the boys, with the women and with the wife. The book invites critical reflection on an eventual contribution of the erotic inferred by gender studies to an eroticism characteristic of the non-sexual relation – and which would be an unprecedented way of approaching this Lacanian aphorism.
